Kathy’s Top Ten Tips for a Magical Thanksgiving!

Ah, Thanksgiving – that magical time of year when we gather with family and friends to give thanks and devour an unholy amount of food. If you’ve drawn the short straw and are playing host this year, fear not! Kathy and the Olsen Team have compiled a list of tips to ensure your Thanksgiving gathering is a memorable one. Brace yourself for a feast of laughter and joy!

  1. Channel Your Inner Martha Stewart: Embrace your inner domestic diva and attempt those intricate Pinterest crafts. Just remember, if your turkey-shaped cookies end up looking like mutant blobs, blame it on the artistic touch.

  2. Gobble Up the Fun: Turn your dining room into a turkey-themed wonderland! Napkin holders shaped like drumsticks? Check. Pilgrim hat centerpieces? Double check. Bonus points if you can get everyone to wear feathers – the more ridiculous, the better.

  3. Cranberry Sauce is Overrated: Swap out traditional cranberry sauce for a jello mold in the shape of a turkey. It’s wobbly, weird, and wonderfully amusing. Your guests won’t know whether to eat it or frame it!

  4. Turkey Trot Dance Floor: Clear some space after the feast for a Thanksgiving-themed dance floor. Bust out the “Turkey Trot” dance moves and watch as your guests attempt to wobble like a bunch of disco-dressed turkeys.

  5. Pumpkin Pie Face-Off: Turn dessert into a competition! Host a pumpkin pie-eating contest. Bonus points if someone manages to fit an entire slice into their mouth without using their hands.

  6. Gratitude Graffiti Wall: Set up a graffiti wall where guests can jot down what they’re thankful for. Just be prepared for Uncle Bob’s doodles that may or may not resemble a turkey doing the moonwalk.

  7. Turkey Whisperer Photobooth: Create a photo booth complete with turkey props. Encourage guests to strike their best turkey poses and document the hilarity. Because nothing says “Thanksgiving” like a selfie with a beak.

  8. Stuff the Guests, Not Just the Turkey: Send everyone home with a goody bag of leftovers. Get creative with your packaging – turkey-shaped Tupperware, perhaps? It’s the gift that keeps on giving, at least until the last piece of pie is devoured.

  9. Thanksgiving Bingo: Create Thanksgiving-themed bingo cards with classic family moments. Aunt Mildred nodding off? Bingo! Grandpa telling the same story for the third time? Double bingo! The winner gets the honor of carving the next turkey.

  10. Bird is the Word: Encourage a family talent show, but with a twist – performances must be turkey-themed. From turkey imitations to turkey-inspired poetry, let the feathers fly!

Remember, the key to a successful Thanksgiving gathering is laughter, love, and maybe just a little bit of turkey-induced delirium. The Olsen Team challenges you to embrace the chaos, savor the moments, and as Kathy always says, “Have a gobble-tastic Thanksgiving!”
